qi yuan asks me to update the blog, what shld I write??? she taught me how to blog yesterday, now I am suppose to put what I learn into practice.
Ooooh, we have our first breakfast in East dragon hotel this morning, so exciting, it is the first thing that came to my mind when I woke up this morning. Yeap, it was OK, but I really hope we will not have the same thing tmr morning. I think I m gng to be sian abt it if we are gng to eat that for 6 days!!! We had chinese ham, 2 eggs, 2 bread rolls, a cup of orange juice and milk tea each. I hope there is porridge tmr morning.
After breakfast, we headed to the National Palace museum (故宫) located near Shilin station. We thought that we will have free entrance with the free ticket that we collected from the Taiwan tourism board in Singapore prior to our trip. However, to our disappointment, the tickets are no longer valid in year 2010. We had to buy entrance ticket at a student price of $4. I think that it is really worth visiting the museum. sue was very impressed by the knowledge that the tour guide has and the detailed interpretation of many paintings that were drawn during the qing/song/tang dynasty! But qiyuan had a bigger 收获! She managed to see the baicai! According to her, we had to queue up to see the exhibit. But to our surprise, there is no queue and we were so excited to examine it! Sue really appreciated this artwork!! she said,"if the artist did not have this inspiration to carve out the baicai, the jade will be deemed as an inferior quality due to its flaws." However, the artist had treansformed it into a masterpiece which attracted crowds from over the world to view it, which includes us of course! we love the museum, though wanlin nearly fell asleep while exploring it!=DD rated 5 stars for it!
After that, our hungry stomachs signalled us for lunch. we tried to head towards tianmu which was planned earlier on. However, we were really TOO hungry and ate along the way towards tianmu. In the end, we failed to explore it! Phew, was told tianmu has nothing much to shop/eat/buy. FOOD SHALL ELABORATED OUR GOUMET, TEO QI YUAN!
*applause*
So far, our trip was good! The next place we ventured was fishermen's wharf. The place was quite deserted, since we did not see many visitors there! The cold, chilling air nearly freezed us especially sue who kept whining to us about the COLD COLD weather. Yet, it did not dampen our moods and we camwhored there! Ate our first GIGANTIC fried chicken (it's really XXXLL) there cause we need to build up our fats to fight the cold~~
FINALLY, it's danshui old streets for shopping! Did not manage to buy anything! ended up going shopping at taipei main station instead. we spent donkey of hours buying shoes! happy though=DD
more details will be out tmr! stay tune ppl!
sleep early!!
sue and wanlin!
