Goodbye Hualien!!!! We will miss you

We slept in a minsu in Hualien last night and it was pretty comfortable. More importantly, it is slightly cheaper than a 3-4 stars hotel and the host is quite friendly. She prepared breakfast for us in her shop and even take away some xiao long bao from the most famous shop in Hualien.

Our tour guide looks more serious and normal today in his army clothes. However, he was still carrying a dagger, together with a handcuff and a pistol. He is quite a responsible and sincere tour guide.

I love the flowers, the mountains and how the houses are sparsely apart along the mid rift valley. Even though it was raining a little in the morning, it did not dampen our mood as we embarked on our sight-seeing journey. We went to a few attractions that were left behind after the Japanese occupation which include a Japanese temple and a wood logging park. The last attraction that we really like is the cow farm where we get to feed the cows and ostrich.

We took a train back to Taipei which takes about 2.5hrs. The train ride was very comfortable and everyone fall asleep which was a waste because we missed the beautiful scenery along the way according to what I read from some forums.
Even though it was already 8.30pm by the time we deposited our luggage in our hotel in ximending, we still headed to Shilin night market as planned in our itinerary. We had our yummy dinner at the night market. After that, is shopping time!!!!
